This page sets out what personal data Cuswpc Tech handles when you read the magazine or get in touch, the reasons for it and the rights you have. In brief: we collect very little, and none of it is used for advertising or profiling.
Who is responsible
The magazine is run by the Cuswpc Tech editorial team, which is the controller for the limited data described here. Questions or requests about your data can be sent to contact@cuswpc.org. We aim to respond within one month.
How the site is built
Cuswpc Tech is a static website. Pages are prepared in advance and delivered to your browser as finished files. There are no reader accounts, no comment section, no shopping basket and no database recording who visits. As a result, the site does not run:
- analytics or visitor statistics tools,
- advertising networks or affiliate trackers,
- social media widgets that report back to those platforms,
- fingerprinting, session recording or any other tracking technique.
Your cookie-banner choice
When you first visit, a short banner asks whether you accept or decline. Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage so the banner does not reappear on every page. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing this site's stored data in your browser deletes it whenever you like. Details are on the Cookie Notice page.
What the web host records
Like any website, Cuswpc Tech is served by a hosting provider whose servers automatically record technical information when a page is requested. This typically includes the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser's user-agent string and the response status. These logs exist to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and diagnose faults. They are kept only for a limited period set by the provider and are not combined with other data or used to identify individual readers. We rely on legitimate interest here: a magazine that loads reliably and resists attacks needs these records.
When you email us
An email to the team reaches us with your address, any name you sign with and the contents of your message. We use this solely to reply and, where relevant, to correct or improve an article. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we delete correspondence once it is no longer needed. Processing rests on the fact that you contacted us and on our legitimate interest in replying. Please avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information by email.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell or rent personal data. The only third parties involved are the hosting provider and our email provider, each acting as a processor for the purposes above. Where these services process data outside your country, they rely on the safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
Your rights under the GDPR
Readers covered by the GDPR, or by comparable privacy laws elsewhere, may:
- find out whether any of their data sits with us and obtain a copy of it,
- get wrong details put right,
- have details deleted once we no longer need them,
- object to, or ask us to limit, any use that relies on legitimate interest,
- take data they supplied to us elsewhere in a machine-readable file,
- lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where they live.
Requests go to the address near the top of this page. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request comes from you.
Links to other websites
Some articles mention or link to outside sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control, so it is worth reading their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this page
If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be updated first. Further terms for using the magazine are on Terms of Use.
